His essay counseling was excellent. He was so creative and inquisitive that he helped me find my episodes out of my professional and personal experiences to tell my abilities and achievements effectively in my essays. One of the most impressive stories was about my coaching experience for a girl’s high school music club. Although firstly I had thought it would be just a trivial topic, according to his advice I could make it a significant episode to tell my leadership.

Adam is familiar with different admission criteria and tendencies of each business school based on his long experiences. I received his detail feedback on my essays to write in different styles for different schools about selection of topics, essay structure and expression. His feedback was so honest and direct that he mentioned “NG” for my no-good essay drafts and ideas. However, he did not only deny what I prepared but also he always provided me with solution, such as alternative idea and new perspective. So I didn’t feel frustrated or unprofessional against his counseling. Rather I enjoyed working with him in a friendly atmosphere.

His interview training was also high quality one. I took mock interviews, which were prepared well according to each school’s admission criteria, style (reviewed or blind), interviewee (alumni or admission), and past interview reports. I also received advices to improve my delivery, such as my answer’s structure, effectiveness of presentation, and habit of saying. Actually, I recognized my weakness on interviews even in my first language Japanese. Now, as the result of his training and my practices, I’m sure I’ve improved my interview delivery so that it must also be applicable to my post-MBA recruiting activities.
