Accepted at: HBS & Wharton

As a fairly slow-starter in the preparation process, I first contacted Adam in mid-Oct 2011. With the Round 2 application deadlines coming up in less than three months time, I was looking for a well-experienced coach to advise me on the process and provide support in preparing an impactful essay.

As a resident outside Japan, most discussions were done over e-mail/phone, but Adam was also kind enough to spare his time for face-to-face meetings whenever I had a chance to visit Japan. He was extremely helpful in brainstorming, selecting and streamlining the stories I should put into my essay, sometimes really pushing me hard to think more, but also providing effective advise/comments to improve the quality of my work. He was also not shy from criticizing my essays whenever necessary – making sure that the message was clear enough for the eyes of the admission office.

Apart from the essay preparation, he also urged me to go for a campus visit, advised me on how to select recommenders, and hooked me up with a few of his ex-colleagues for interview preparation, which were all essential for the application process. At the end of the day, MBA application is something you need to think and do on your own. Nevertheless, a holistic support from an effective coach will really increase the chance of getting into schools you wish, and for me, I wouldn’t have been able to achieve the same result without Adam.

Thanks Adam for all your support, and best wishes to all future applicants!
